Hi, I’m Michaela.
Most people know me as Misha Skova.
My story began in Czechoslovakia. When I was a little girl, my mother and I left our home in search of safety and a different future. We spent two years in a refugee camp in Salzburg, Austria, before eventually making our way to the United States and beginning again in California.
I was young, but that experience shaped so much of who I am. It taught me resilience, compassion, and an appreciation for freedom that has stayed with me throughout my life.
To me, beauty has never simply been about how something looks. It’s about creating something meaningful from what you have and finding a way to begin again.
From the runway to building something of my own
Fashion was my first creative world.
I began my career as a model, working in New York and living abroad in Barcelona and Cape Town. I fell in love not only with fashion, but with the storytelling behind it—the imagery, the emotion, and the way a beautiful idea could make someone feel something.
Eventually, I realized I didn’t only want to represent other people’s visions. I wanted to create my own.
In 2008, I founded SKOVA after studying at the Gemological Institute of America. What began as a luxury jewelry collection grew into a lifestyle brand inspired by travel, art, color, and the places I love.
My entrepreneurial journey continued with SKOVA SOUL, co-founding La Vie Boheme Yoga, and becoming a business owner and partner of LACAUSA, an ethical fashion brand rooted in thoughtful design, responsible production, and sustainability.
What I’m building now
After more than 15 years of building brands and businesses, I realized one of the things I love most is helping other people bring their ideas to life.
That became BrandBloom360, where I work alongside founders and businesses to transform ideas into brands people can see, understand, and connect with.
I’ve learned that the best brands aren’t built by following a formula.
They’re built around a story people can feel.

And if there’s one thing I know about myself, it’s that I will always need a creative outlet.
That’s what this website is.
I’ve never been someone who fits neatly into one creative box. This is a place where I can bring together the things that genuinely inspire me: fashion, personal style, trends, travel, design, art, cooking, wellness, and all the beautiful things I discover along the way.
Creativity has always been the thread connecting everything I do.
So consider this space a little window into my world—a place to share what I’m creating, what I’m loving, what I’m learning, and what’s inspiring me right now.
Through it all, I try to stay connected to what matters most to me: creativity, family, freedom, sustainability, empowering women, supporting refugees, and never forgetting where I came from.
